Compass Group is well known for its long and distinguished heritage in foodservice. However, we also have a well-established business providing essential support services to many blue-chip organisations in all sectors. The provision of these services is a growing strength in our business.

The services we support

We offer a wide range of support services to our clients including building operations and maintenance as well as office, outdoor, cleaning and security services. Developing a supply chain that is small enough to manage, but still big enough to cope with this wide range of services, requires innovation and strong leadership.

Our purchasing team

Led by the Purchasing Director, our department is divided in to three teams. One of each of the three teams is responsible for both soft and hard FM services, office services and equipment buying. Each team is managed by a Lead Buyer who is responsible for a group of buying specialists. Where practical, we appoint category leaders from our supply chain to ensure each category receives the appropriate level of innovation, leadership and management time.

Supplier selection

Each supplier within the support service supply chain is chosen because they are proven to be consistently safe, ethical, capable of great service, competitively priced and financially robust. Equally, we recognise the importance of partnering with suppliers that select their employees from within the communities in which they work.

Safety still remains our number one priority. For this reason, we have appointed Safecontractor, the UK and Ireland's leading independent supplier and contractor assurance organisation, to independently assess our suppliers. They ensure each of our contractors and service providers meets stringent health, safety and environmental standards. This approach to supplier selection removes unnecessary risk and protects our clients, the people we employ and the customers we serve.
