How the Hyperloop will transform transport

Eurest | Great service |  13 July 2017

A straight road disappearing into the distance

Forget planes, trains and automobiles — the Hyperloop is the way forward for travel. It's innovative and offers a great service. Here's how it works.

Trouble for transport

As global populations rise, pressure builds on the fundamental services that keep society running. A great example is transport, which faces a particularly tricky situation. It has more people to move around, it has to move them further (as house prices force people to live ever-greater distances from work), and it has to do so without causing further damage to the environment.

An impossible task, you might think. But you’d be wrong. There’s a new form of transport on the way, which takes all of these challenges in its stride — and could completely transform the way we travel.

It’s called the Hyperloop.

Welcome to the future

The Hyperloop is a transport system that wouldn’t look out of place on The Jetsons. Developed by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, the Hyperloop works by putting passengers into a capsule that magnetically levitates in a reduced-pressure tube. Because there’s pretty much no resistance, the capsule can reach speeds of up to 760 miles per hour.

And speed isn’t the Hyperloop’s only attribute — it’s environmentally friendly too. Using solar panels, regenerative brakes (which convert kinetic energy into power) and wind turbines (built into the infrastructure), the Hyperloop can actually create a surplus of energy.

A speedy service

To put it into perspective; if the Hyperloop ran from Land’s End to John O’Groats, the journey would take just over an hour. How’s that for a fantastic service? With those kind of speeds, the need for people to fly is greatly reduced — good news for the environment (and for anyone who doesn’t like having to turn up two hours before departure time).

We can get behind any service that makes life better for people — and the Hyperloop certainly promises that.

In fact, Great Service is a pillar of our business — the foundation of how we work; and we achieve it in different ways. A large part is getting to know our clients — their needs, and how they work. Only then can we design a service that’s unique to them. It also comes down to making sure we have the best people — after all, any service is only as good as the people who provide it.

So trust us to deliver the highest standards of futuristic service, and we’ll let the Hyperloop get on with transforming how we all get to work.
